By the light of the single, flickering flame, you follow blindly, stumbling over shrouded furniture. Dust rises and you fight the urge to sneeze. In the distance, your ears pick up faint sounds...you think you recognize the voices of your companions. But the sounds are not happy; instead it seems they are crying out...in agony?
Your resolve faltering, all you want to do is leave this place. But you don't have any idea which way to go - and suddenly the candlelight disappears. Your eyes adjust once more to the darkness and you see a faint glow ahead. Feeling your way toward the faint light, a ghostly touch brushes your cheek. You jump, then realize it was only a cobweb.
As you approach the light, you realize it is an opening. Looking into it, you see a narrow curving stone staircase leading down, dimly lit by torches. Cautiously, you step into the tunnel, clinging to the damp walls. As you turn the first curve, you are suddenly confronted by a black shrouded figure. Looking deep into the folds, you see no face, nothing but deep cold blackness. The figure turns and glides down the staircase and you follow, quivering with fear. As you reach the bottom of the staircase, opening into a room, you see only a heavy studded door. The fearful figure wants you to enter, but you are afraid. You hear the sounds of fear beyond the door, and you turn to run back up the staircase. Suddenly a ghostly skeletal figure jumps out at you!
You turn back toward the door and you
(But all you really want is to go home.)
